My work and my commissions are based in the formal aspects of art. I try to make honest work without a ton of hidden meaning. I plein air paint a lot. I love being outdoors with paint. I think nature and being in the landscape is a great backdrop to explore the formal aspects of art. My main goal is to transmute my emotional state in response to my own sense of beauty. It’s simple. But, simple, is beautiful.
Artist Statement
On this website you will find original oil paintings, original gouache paintings, and pet portraits created in charcoal. All of my work is based in the formal aspects of art. I am constantly learning and integrating what I learn back into my work.
